Clean, tight, unmarked; creases to inside front corners; otherwise very minimal wear; There were four purposes for the publication of this book. The prime purpose was to encourage the reader, through legend, to discover the culture and heritage of the North American Indian. The second was to show that the literature of the native people illustrates a way of life in which there was no generation gap, no isolation of the individual. The Indian felt a sense of kinship to the world of nature. In fact, he was one with his community, one with his tribe, and one with nature. Thirdly, was to show the narrative excellence of Indian legends. And fourth was to draw some of the parallels between the ancient Greek and the North American stories.
