This is the first film written, directed and acted by Inuit in the ancient and oral language of Inuktitut. Published here is the world's first Inuktitut screen play written by Paul Apak Angilirq before his untimely death of cancer in 1998, the English screen play by producer/cinematographer Norman Cohn, artists' statements by Apak Cohn and director Zacharias Kunuk, cultural commentaries by noted anthropologist Bernard Saladin d'Anglure on the lengends and Inuit Shamanism, with hundreds of photographs, many behind the scenes.
