As New; The central issue in this play is spousal abuse but, as so often happens within the judicial system and public perception, the focus is diverted by opportunists to some other issue - in this case - racism. While both issues are of importance, Varma has skillfully counterpointed them to show how the intersections of two issues can be used to confound and mislead the public to be ineffective in both, while The Establishment and politicians go their self-serving ways.
