History of the Patuanak Dene 1906-1970 - Paul, Raphael
History of the Patuanak Dene 1906-1970 - Paul, Raphael
Clean, tight, unmarked; absolute minimal wear; appears unread; Raphael Victor Paul is an Aboriginal person of Dene heritage, born in a tent in Northern Saskatchewan in Haultain Lake. He spent 10 years (1944-1954) at the Beauval Indian Residential School and has since written this memoir to shed light on his story of survival. Raphael has always wanted to write a history of his community. He has always been interested in the stories, the myths, and history as told by the elders of Patuanak. Raphael is the first Aboriginal graduate from all of northwest Saskatchewan to fully complete his elemental and high school education and carry on to obtain two post-secondary degrees. He also was elected chief of his reserve and served from 2007-2011.
