Micmac Legends of Prince Edward Island - Sark, John Joe
Micmac Legends of Prince Edward Island - Sark, John Joe
Clean, tight, unmarked; crease across upper inside corner; light wear to inside corners; otherwise minimal wear; This book tells the early history of the Micmac people through legends that have been passed down from generation to generation. The text is accompanied by paintings that were originally done by Micmac artist Michael Francis on the walls of the Parochial House on Lennox Island. When the paintings began to deteriorate, they were redone on canvas by Micmac artist George Paul. Included also is a section about the Micmac's first contact with the European settlers. The early lifestyle of the Micmac, along with text and photographs about Lennox Island conclude the book.
