The Interlakers are the descendants of Britons, Germans, Icelanders, Hungarians, Ukrainians, Poles, Native people and many other of the ethnic groups that make up Canada's cultural montage. But whatever their origins, these people have shared common challenges of extreme weather and a hostile landscape.
