INSCRIPTION FROM WILLIAM B MOODY on ffep; INSCRIPTION FROM WAYNE W SHAW (Illustrator) on bfep; Clean, tight, unmarked; a few other gift inscriptions throughout book; light wear to corners and spine extremes of dust jacket - otherwise bright, with very minimal wear; green covers with gilt titles; very minimal wear; William Moody is a native Mississippian and a veteran of World War II, having served with the US Marines in the Guam, Saipan, and Okinawa campaigns, as well as occupation forces of North China. The stories in this book were first written down to vent personal tragic memories of Vietnam, and were not originally intended for publication. Some veterans, including Vietnam widows, former POW's and wounded veterans read the material and so identified with the experience of the author that they encouraged the idea of a book. We pray that those who seek affirmation and a sense of purpose will find both here.
