Thistle, who was very timid, chose to live with his brother, Thorn. Together they settled close to a pond which was home to a great blue heron and a family of Indian Runner ducks. Thistle was enchanted by the arrival of five baby ducklings and overcame his fear by rescuing the family from a sly old fox.
