Clean, tight, unmarked; small closed tear to upper front corner at spine; otherwise spine straight and uncreased; very minimal wear; 1970 reprint of an 1871 treatise that provided a detailed description of the over 45 Canadian railways that existed in 1871 with information on their construction, mileage, and finances (which were frequently in "embarrassed" condition). Among the systems covered are the Grand Trunk, the Canadian Pacific, and the Intercolonial as well as a host of others that would eventually disappear. With over 50 pages of vintage ads from railroad related companies, such as locomotive builders, rail manufacturers and bridge builders.
