Selected papers from the Viking Millennium International Symposium Sept 2000, Newfoundland and Labrador; Clean, tight, unmarked; a couple of scratches to the back cover; otherwise absolute minimal wear; Approximately 1000 years ago, between A.D. 997 and 1003, Leif Eriksson navigated the Labrador Cost, and set up a camp on the tip of Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula at L'Anse aux Meadows. Crossing the North Atlantic was the final link in circling the globe with humanity. In Sept 2000, more than 300 Norse experts and enthusiasts gathered for a symposium to celebrate the Viking millennium and revisit Vinland. The ten day symposium travelled from St. John's to L'Anse aux Meadows and the Labrador Straits. Although the magic and cameraderie of those two weeks cannot be re-created, this volume gathers together many of the papers that were presented.
